There are plenty of new TV shows we’re looking forward to this year – or should we say frenzy them in a day?

The funny thing is that we have been anticipating these new seasons for so long that when they finally air, we are frantically watching all the episodes as soon as possible.

Here are six upcoming series in Spanish that we are excited about this year!

‘Dark Desire (Oscuro Deseo)’

The sexy and creepy thriller is savage from start to finish. Now, when I say sexy, I mean it’s not for the most conservative binge-watchers. I’m talking about back-to-back sultry and steamy scenes featuring lead actress Maite Perroni and actor Alejandro Speitzer. The “who stabs who” storyline has twists that will instantly immerse you in their reality – so much so that you won’t want to miss a line from the character’s mouth. The second and last season is scheduled for February 2, 2022.

“Who killed Sara? (¿Quién mató a Sara?)’

This Mexican crime drama will have you biting your nails. You will interview any family members who are circulating Sara’s death. I don’t want to spoil anything from the second season, but know that it will leave you breathless and searching for answers to questions you wouldn’t even have thought of when you introduced the story. The official release date is not yet known, but we know that the third season comes from the end of the second season’s final credits.

The Netflix comedy-drama about four friends in their thirties with completely different lifestyles is entertaining, emotional and hilarious. Although branded as Spanish Sex and the City, the show is more than that – they tackle intense issues such as Latin America Ni Una Menos movement against feminicides and gender-based violence. We can’t wait to see what they incorporate next! The third season is set to release on the third quarter releases of 2022.

‘The misfit’

argentina The misfit is all about an ex-cop investigating a kidnapping. I haven’t touched on that particular series yet, but seeing as Netflix is releasing its fourth season, that might be something to to verify. Season 4 releases on January 19.

“Heavenly Bites: Mexico”

For my foodies:Heavenly Bites‘ releases its Mexican edition on January 19! I love the cultural representation, especially when we show our sometimes weird but authentic flavor combinations. Netflix description: “Welcome to a culinary extravaganza, a visual poem about Mexican gastronomic ingenuity and original, delicious flavors worth the stomach ache.” Veremos!

“Neymar: the perfect chaos”

For those who love sports, Netflix is releasing a documentary about one of Brazil’s most famous footballers. In this series, Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior will talk about his personal story, which will also contain interviews with other football stars such as Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and David Beckham. Watch the trailer here, and get ready for January 25.
